Saving Lives Has Never Been So Easy
Throughout Nebraska, good guys make a difference for others every day. Good guys show up for their friends and families. Good guys pitch in in their communities. Good guys lend a hand in whatever way then can.
And when good guys sign up to be organ donors, they save lives.
Right now more than 100,000 people in the U.S. are waiting for a lifesaving organ transplant. When you sign up to a donor, you could save up to eight lives and heal 100 others.

“My transplant gave me a whole new chapter in life. I cherish every day that I’m here.”
- John, heart recipient

“My transplant has allowed me to not only become a father, but to hear my son call me Dad.”
- Tyler, liver recipient
Organ & Tissue Donation Facts
Signing up to be an organ and tissue donor is simple act that can have a big impact. But we get it, you probably have some questions about how it works. We’re here to help.

Anyone Can Sign Up to Be a Donor
You don't have to be perfect to be an organ and tissue donor. There are no age limits for registering as a donor and patients with a variety of conditions are still able to save lives. When the time comes, medical professionals will ensure the safety of your donation.
Donor Registration is for After Death
When you register to be a donor at the DMV, online, or when you get your hunting and fishing license, you pledge to help others after you die. While living donation is a powerful way to help those waiting for a transplant, it is not included in your donor registration.

Many Ways to Help
One donor can change the lives of many. Donated organs (like kidneys and lungs) can save eight lives. Donated tissues (bone, corneas, tendons, and more) give others the gift of sight, help repair sports injuries, prevent amputation, and so much more.

There is No Cost to Donate
Giving the gift of life is an incredible act of generosity. Registered donors and their families can rest assured that all medical expenses related to the donation are covered by Live On Nebraska.

Your Funeral, Your Way
Live On Nebraska works closely with the loved ones of donors to understand and honor their plans for final services. Traditional funeral practices like open-casket viewings are possible following donation.
